Know Before You Apply

Eligibility & Timeline

Who is eligible to apply?

Florida-licensed skilled nursing facilities are eligible to apply. Final criteria and how to apply will be announced soon.

What happens after I apply?
Applications are reviewed through November 2026, or until the program reaches capacity. If your facility is selected, you'll receive an email followed by a kickoff meeting and participation agreement with full program details.

I am part of a multi-facility organization. Do I need to apply multiple times?

No, you only need to apply once. If you indicate that you are part of a multi-facility organization on the application, then our team will follow up for more information. Up to three communities per organization may be selected for the program.

What does it cost my facility?

The eBrief system itself, installation, operation, and support, is covered by state funding for the program's initial year until the grant funds have been exhausted.. Facilities are responsible for any infrastructure needed to support the system, such as adequate WiFi and internet connectivity, if not already in place. Specific technical requirements will be confirmed during the application process.

I'm not the final decision-maker at my facility. Can I still apply?

Yes, many applications start with clinical leadership.

What's expected of participating facilities?
Participating facilities will support installation and staff training, use the eBrief system as your incontinence standard of care in your daily workflow, and share performance data to help measure program outcomes. Specific participation requirements will be shared during the application process.

Who is the ideal applicant?

We're looking for facilities with strong leadership and a willingness to adopt new technology and workflows, particularly those that are ready to strengthen performance on key Quality Measures.

eBrief™ Insert
Applied to an incontinence product or undergarment, the Insert activates once wetted, sending a digital signal to the Room Reader.

The eBrief System

What's Included?

eBrief™ Assistive Incontinence Technology uses a discreet, disposable sensor to provide remote, real-time alerts when an undergarment needs changing. By reducing the need for manual checks, eBrief improves caregiver efficiency and supports dignity and comfort for users.

Disposable Moisture Sensor saves both caregiver time and senior care facility resources.

Works With Your Existing Products so you don't need to switch incontinence product brands or lock into a single supplier.

Real-Time Alerts sent directly to point-of-care devices, reducing the need for routine rounds.

A New Revenue Opportunity that may create a billable service line for facilities, supporting long-term program sustainability.

Preserves Resident Dignity by reducing the need for manual brief checks and changes.

Reduces Health Risks with less time residents spend in contact with wet briefs.

Real World Outcomes

Mission Health

"These results have been remarkable for our McPherson team. The insights we gained during the case study showed us how beneficial this innovative product has been for both residents and staff. It has not only delivered better resident outcomes but has saved hours in nursing care time, allowing for timely brief changing when needed and ending the inadequate strategy of 'check and change.'"

Karen McDonald, BSN, RN

Chief Clinical Officer, Mission Health

Our mission is to improve the quality and reduce the burden of incontinence care in Florida skilled nursing facilities
with the following goals:

1
To improve incontinence care for residents and staff in Florida’s licensed nursing homes
2
To create evidence-based incontinence practices through the use of the
eBrief system
3
To recognize and support innovative Change Makers in long term care

The Human Imperative

Impact on Workforce & Vulnerable Populations

Manual check-and-change routines are one of the most-cited drivers of CNA burnout, but also one of the most fixable. eBrief replaces constant manual checks with real-time notifications, giving staff back time for the care that actually matters.

Staff Relief & Retention

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) spend 56% of their daily shift managing manual incontinence tasks.

Unmanaged incontinence care is cited by 59% of Directors of Nursing (DONs) as a primary contributor to CNA turnover.

Replacing intrusive, manual "check-and-change" routines with targeted notifications restores time for meaningful resident engagement.

Specialized Care & Medicare Demographics

Between 45% and 60% of Medicare beneficiaries live with urinary incontinence

Additionally, 52% of individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and 21% of Americans with physical disabilities face severe toileting challenges.

Data-driven care ensures these vulnerable populations receive dignified, tailored support.

The Clinical Imperative

Impact on Key

Quality Measures

Incontinence is one of the most pervasive challenges in post-acute care, directly correlating with major clinical complications.

Today, care issues surrounding incontinence remain the number one grievance cited by residents and families in annual Ombudsman reports.
